Vendor Managed Inventory Coordinator I

Location: Duluth, MN 55802
Job Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM (Schedule may vary)

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and dependable Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Coordinator I to support inventory management and material delivery activities at a customer site in Duluth, MN.

In this role, you will assist with bringing materials to designated Point-of-Use (POU) areas, stocking cabinets and vending machines, delivering materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting day-to-day warehouse and customer service operations.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, comfortable working independently, and able to interact professionally with customers, coworkers, and management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and set up inventory and materials at customer-designated locations.
  • Transport materials from the warehouse/distribution center to the customer site.
  • Bring materials to designated Point-of-Use (POU) areas and load vending machines.
  • Stock inventory cabinets and customer-designated storage areas.
  • Verify shipments for accuracy against purchase orders, invoices, or customer requirements.
  • Follow customer orders from warehouse pickup through delivery and final setup.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining the customer's VMI inventory areas.
  • Support inventory counting and replenishment activities according to established processes.
  • Monitor product usage and recommend inventory-level adjustments when appropriate.
  • Take customer spot-buy orders when needed and communicate order information to the appropriate team.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas and equipment.
  • Follow all established safety procedures and proper equipment-use guidelines.
  • Report inventory, equipment, safety, or customer concerns to management.
  • Assist with cleaning work areas and vending machines as needed.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, coworkers, and management.
  • Perform other warehouse, inventory, delivery, and material-handling duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant warehouse, inventory, material handling, or delivery experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to understand and follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
  • Willingness to learn new products, processes, and inventory procedures.
  • Ability to work independently while following established supervision and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing work accurately and on time.
  • Reliable, dependable, and punctual work ethic.
  • Positive and proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with customers, coworkers, and management.
  • Willingness to learn about company products and inventory systems.

  • Steel-toe safety shoes are required.
