Mon. Friday 7am - 3:30pm

Compensation: $21 - 31/hr

A traffic clerk/receiving clerk is responsible for managing incoming shipments by inspecting, verifying the quantity and quality of goods against purchase orders, documenting received items, and storing them in the appropriate location, ensuring accurate inventory records while maintaining efficient warehouse operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Verifying shipments: Checking incoming deliveries against purchase orders to ensure the correct items and quantities are received.
• Inspecting goods: Examining items for damage or defects upon arrival.
• Data entry: Recording details of received goods into inventory management systems, including quantity, condition and discrepancies.
• Reporting issues: Communicating any discrepancies, damages, or missing items to Purchasing Department and necessary management.
• Labeling and tracking: Applying labels to items and maintaining accurate tracking of inventory.
• Maintaining records: Keeping detailed logs of received shipments and related documentation.
• Communicating with Carriers: Following up with carriers regarding delivery status and resolving issues with shipments.
• Unloading deliveries: Physically unloading shipments from trucks using forklifts as needed.
• Distributes documentation, including transfer of all original documents to Purchasing Director and Inventory Coordinator.

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

• Comply with all company safety policies and procedures as well as complying with all OSHA, EPA and other regulatory rules and regulations (THINK "SAFETY FIRST").

• Ability to recognize unsafe acts and conditions in the facility and implement appropriate corrective actions.

• Ability to recognize and report all incidents; even those that do not warrant treatment.

• Complete all necessary annual trainings.

• Review and execute our Food Safety Plan and MFP Mission Statement in order to provide value to each of our customers with safe, relevant, tasty food products; while never comprising quality.

• Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP's) including proper waste disposal, attire, grooming and hygiene, etc.

Skills and Specifications

• Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, IBM Notes and Inventory Management System.
• Ability to interact effectively with various levels of professionals within and outside the organization.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to guide, teach and communicate with others.

Traffic Clerk/Receiving is supported and backed up by Receiving Supervisor. Suitable training is required of this individual.

Traffic Clerk/Receiving reports to a Receiving Supervisor or Warehouse Manager.
