Job SummaryWe are seeking an
Inventory Control Clerk to support stockroom and inventory operations. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory while ensuring accurate records and timely availability of materials.
The role requires extensive use of computer applications, including
Maximo, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to investigate inventory discrepancies, expedite orders, and coordinate with vendors, Engineering, Maintenance, and other plant personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, record, and properly store incoming materials and stock items.
- Review receiver documentation for accuracy and investigate receiving discrepancies.
- Issue stock items and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Perform daily cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Research and resolve inventory discrepancies and correct inventory data as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory information in the Maximo system.
- Communicate with vendors regarding orders, critical items, purchase orders, and delivery status.
- Expedite critical and rush orders and follow up on outstanding stock orders.
- Work with Engineering and Maintenance to establish and maintain new stock items.
- Process repairable items and maintain a designated area for repair inventory.
- Obtain vendor RA numbers and complete required paperwork for repair returns.
- Properly package, label, and prepare repair items for shipment.
- Provide repair parts and materials for preventive maintenance, shutdowns, and other maintenance activities.
- Assist Accounts Payable with invoice and receiving discrepancies when required.
- Maintain the stockroom in a clean, organized, and orderly condition.
- Prepare or provide financial and inventory-related reports for plant personnel.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Previous experience in inventory control, stockroom, warehouse, material management, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong computer skills and experience with inventory or warehouse management systems.
- Experience with Maximo is preferred.
- Strong data-entry and recordkeeping skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies and resolve order-related issues.
- Ability to work effectively with vendors, Engineering, Maintenance, Accounts Payable, and employees at various levels.
- Ability to locate and identify stock items quickly, even when limited information is provided.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment.
