Inventory Control Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Controls Analyst to support inventory accuracy, financial controls, and operational continuity within a manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for investigating inventory discrepancies, performing reconciliations, supporting inventory-related SOX controls, and partnering with plant operations, finance, and supply chain teams to resolve inventory issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze inventory activity to identify discrepancies, variances, and potential control issues.
• Investigate inventory variances and determine root causes, then partner with plant personnel to resolve identified issues.
• Perform inventory reconciliations, account tie-outs, and inventory reporting.
• Research and resolve negative inventory, COGI errors, IDoc issues, and other SAP inventory exceptions.
• Execute and support inventory-related SOX controls, including appropriate documentation and evidence.
• Monitor inventory adjustments and verify proper review and approval.
• Support cycle counts and physical inventory activities, including count completeness reviews.
• Assist with audit preparation by gathering documentation, providing supporting evidence, and following up on inventory-related findings.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, recurring inventory issues, and opportunities to improve inventory accuracy.
• Partner cross-functionally with plant operations, finance, accounting, and supply chain teams.
• Help standardize inventory control processes and procedures across manufacturing locations.
• Support segregation-of-duties requirements and other internal control activities.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of inventory accounting, inventory analysis, or inventory control experience
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on SAP inventory management experience
• Experience investigating and resolving inventory variances and discrepancies
• Understanding of cycle counts and physical inventory processes
• Experience supporting SOX controls, internal controls, and/or audits
• Strong inventory reconciliation and account tie-out experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
  • Pivot Tables
  • VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
  • Data validation
  • Data reconciliation and analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to communicate inventory issues clearly and work with operational teams to drive resolution

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP S/4
• Experience researching COGI errors, IDocs, negative inventory, and inventory exceptions
• Experience with Power Query
• Experience with BlackLine for balance sheet reconciliations and SOX-related activities
• Experience supporting inventory controls across multiple manufacturing locations
• Experience working through process changes, reorganizations, or inventory control standardization initiatives
