Inventory Clerk I

Our client, a leading food distribution company, is seeking an experienced Driver Checkin/Inventory Control/Returns Clerk to support warehouse operations at their Jessup, MD facility. This role is critical to maintaining inventory accuracy, processing returns, and ensuring proper documentation across shipping, receiving, and driver route reconciliation functions.

Job Summary
Our client, a leading food distribution company, is seeking an experienced Driver Checkin/Inventory Control/Returns Clerk to support warehouse operations at their Jessup, MD facility. This role is critical to maintaining inventory accuracy, processing returns, and ensuring proper documentation across shipping, receiving, and driver route reconciliation functions.

Contract Details
- Duration: Approximately 6 months (1,040 total hours)
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Location: Jessup, MD (on-site)
- Travel: None required

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support warehouse inventory control processes
- Verify driver check-ins and reconcile delivery routes
- Process product returns and ensure proper documentation of materials and finished goods
- Support shipping and receiving operations across dry, cooler, and freezer storage areas
- Perform data entry and record-keeping using AS400 systems
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and documentation

Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related role
- Experience with driver check-in and route reconciliation processes
- Working knowledge of AS400 systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to work in a cold storage warehouse environment, including extended periods in freezer conditions (Freezer 80%, Cooler 10%, Dry 10%)
- Ability to stand for extended periods across all warehouse areas

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food distribution or logistics warehouse setting
- Experience processing returns and reconciling inventory discrepancies
- Strong organizational and communication skills
