    Description

    The Interventional Radiology Technologist performs a wide range of diagnostic and interventional radiographic procedures under minimal supervision. This role supports physicians during interventional examinations and ensures high‑quality imaging, patient safety, and efficient workflow within the department.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform basic to complex diagnostic radiographic procedures as ordered by a licensed physician.
    • Provide technical support for interventional radiology examinations, including fluoroscopy, arthrography, trauma imaging, and OR procedures.
    • Assess patient condition and ensure proper positioning and safety throughout imaging procedures.
    • Operate and maintain imaging equipment, exam rooms, supplies, and medications.
    • Produce high‑quality diagnostic radiographs and rotate through advanced radiology areas (OR, Urography, myelography, arthrography, trauma, and specialized placements).
    • Complete all required competencies within the designated introductory period.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations.


    Requirements

    Qualifications

     

    Education

    • Required: Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program
    • Preferred: Associate’s degree

     

    Experience

    • Required: 2–5 years of X‑ray experience
    • Preferred: 1–3 years of Interventional Radiology experience

    Certifications

    • Required: ARRT (R), BLS, and state licensures (if applicable)
    • Preferred: ARRT VI or CI 

    Candidate Profile

    • 2–5 years of relevant experience
    • Associate‑level seniority
    • No management experience required
    • Minimum education: Associate’s degree
    • Willingness to travel occasionally
