Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) Travel Contract
Location: Evanston, IL
Assignment: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | Day Shift
Shift: 8- or 10-Hour Shifts
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) for a 13-week travel assignment in Evanston, Illinois . The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Interventional Radiology experience and the ability to scrub in with Interventional Radiologists during complex procedures .
Neuro Interventional Radiology experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with Neuro IR experience are encouraged to highlight this experience when applying.
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub in with IR physicians during complex interventional procedures.
- Assist with Neuro Interventional Radiology procedures , including thrombectomies.
- Support procedures involving pulmonary embolism (PE) interventions.
- Assist with Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) procedures.
- Support Y-90 radioembolization procedures.
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields and procedural equipment.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the IR team.
- Follow established radiation safety, infection control, and patient care protocols.
- Maintain readiness for emergency and time-sensitive interventional procedures.
On-Call Requirements
- Neuro IR: 30-minute callback requirement
- IR Body: 45-minute callback requirement
- Approximately 9 call days per month
- Includes one full weekend (Friday Sunday) within a 4-week schedule
- One additional weekend day may be assigned as third man , with the rotation varying based on scheduling.
- Call-back minimum: 2 hours
- Call compensation: $8/hour
Requirements
- 2+ years of Interventional Radiology experience
- Previous travel experience required
- Neuro IR experience preferred
- Strong ability to scrub and assist during complex IR procedures
- ARRT certification required
- BLS certification required
- Illinois IEMA license required
- Must be comfortable participating in an on-call rotation

Orientation & Credentialing
- Orientation may be scheduled any weekday.
- Monday orientation is preferred.
- All credentials must be completed by Thursday prior to the start date .
