    Interventional Radiology Nurse (RN) – La Jolla, CA

     

    A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Nurse (RN) to support patients undergoing minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This role is ideal for a nursing professional who thrives in a procedural setting and is committed to delivering safe, patient-centered care.

    Responsibilities

    • Assess, monitor, and prepare patients before interventional procedures

    • Provide nursing care during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures requiring moderate sedation

    • Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes in condition

    • Administer medications and sedation in accordance with physician orders and established protocols

    • Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe and efficient patient care

    • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and follow-up care

    • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

    • Support emergency response efforts when necessary

    • Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards

    • Participate in on-call coverage and procedural support as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure

    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications

    • Previous experience in Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Critical Care, Emergency Department, or procedural nursing preferred

    • Experience with moderate sedation and patient monitoring preferred

    • Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills

    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment
