    Summary

    The Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine seeks a board-certified/board-eligible Interventional Cardiologist. This full-time faculty position is responsible for providing comprehensive cardiovascular care to patients at Baylor St. Luke''s Medical Center and Baylor College of Medicine ambulatory practice locations.

    The successful candidate will contribute to the growth and advancement of the cardiovascular program through the direct patient care, multidisciplinary collaboration, educational activities, and administrative responsibilities. Clinical duties will primarily focus on percutaneous coronary interventions, peripheral vascular interventions, diagnostic cardiac catheterization, as well as provide access in general cardiology.

    Job Duties

    Clinical Responsibilities

    • The physician will perform clinical activities, including ambulatory clinical care, inpatient rounding as part of the interventional cardiology service, night and weekend coverage for STEMI activations, and inpatient and outpatient cardiac catheterization.
    • Dedicate 6-7 half days per week to ambulatory outpatient activities
    • 2-3 half days per week may be dedicated to the cardiac catheterization and peripheral interventions at BSLMC

    Administrative Responsibilities

    • Teach and mentor cardiology fellows, residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers.
    • Participate in clinical research, scholarly activities, and institutional committees.
    • Support departmental and institutional initiatives aligned with the academic mission of Baylor College of Medicine.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
    • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency
    • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship
    • Completion of advanced fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology
    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
    • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Texas

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease
    • Academic experience involving teaching, clinical research, or program development
