Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The Instructor serves as part of a collaborative team dedicated to supporting student success from recruitment through graduation and beyond. This role contributes to student achievement, career readiness, and community impact through high-quality instruction and engagement. The Instructor is responsible for teaching assigned courses in accordance with departmental and institutional standards. This includes planning and delivering effective, relevant, and inclusive instruction that promotes critical thinking, skill development, and active learning. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing instructional materials, assessing student learning through well-designed evaluation methods, and maintaining a supportive and engaging classroom environment. The Instructor also participates in curriculum development, provides student mentoring, and connects students with academic, and support resources as needed. Additional expectations include active participation in institutional service, ongoing professional development, and collaboration with program leadership. The Instructor must maintain accurate student records and comply with all college policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate degree (all degrees should be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency that is recognized by the United States Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC) or successful completion of an accredited program in a related healthcare field and current, active professional certification in one of the following:

o Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)- Cardiovascular Credentialing International

o Registered Nurse (RN)- State Board of Nursing

o Registered Respiratory Therapist (RTT)- State Respiratory Care Board

o Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT)- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist

o Registered Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (EMT-P)- National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians or an equivalent state licensing body.

  • Current, active Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential through Cardiovascular Credentialing International
  • Minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification, or certification within 12 months of hire
  • Teaching, precepting, or clinical instruction experience in a cardiovascular clinical setting
  • Competent in computer skills that include Microsoft Office Suite and internet use
  • Understanding of, and commitment to the unique nature and role of Health Sciences programs and the College

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree related to a healthcare profession.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Experience with online or hybrid leaning platforms.
  • Advanced technical or simulation-based training experience.

Essential Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

Teaching and Learning

  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance clinical education programming to meet accreditation and industry standards
  • Deliver engaging instruction across classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Develop and manage student clinical schedules and learning experiences
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise clinical instructors
  • Collaborate on curriculum design and program development initiatives
  • Support student advising and success initiatives in partnership with Student Success teams
  • Assist with program budgeting, equipment oversight, and resource planning
  • Maintain strong relationships with clinical partners and community stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with SACSCOC, JRC-CVT/CAAHEP, and other regulatory standards

Participate in ongoing professional development and continuous improvement efforts
