PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Intervention & Assessment Specialist leads the coordination of attendance systems, academic interventions, and assessment processes for high school and Adult Education/GED programs. The position focuses on improving student persistence, measurable skill gains (MSG), and credential attainment by aligning attendance interventions, data monitoring, and instructional supports within a continuous improvement model
Compensation Range: $47,203 - 99,323 per year. This salary range reflects a full-time 1.0 role. An employee working less than 1.0 FTE will receive a prorated salary based on their assigned FTE. Placement on the salary schedule is based on verified, comparable education and experience. For more information on range placement, please review the REA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.

- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Ensures full implementation of required assessment systems, including regular CASAS testing in alignment with Illinois Community College Board grant requirements.
- Maintains test security, proper administration procedures, and required documentation for all state and local assessments.
- Coordinates, manages and maintains compliance for all aspects of student assessment and surveys, including but not limited to CASAS pre- and post-testing schedule, high school benchmark and local assessments, GED readiness and practice testing alignment, Panorama and 5 Essentials
- Develops and maintains a testing calendar that ensures students are assessed within required instructional hour windows.
- Trains staff on proper administration, scoring, and use of assessment data to drive instruction.
- Meets with students regularly to set short-term attendance and academic goals.
- Leads building-level attendance monitoring systems, including daily and weekly attendance tracking, for early identification of at-risk students and implements tiered attendance interventions.
- Coordinates interventions for students with chronic absenteeism, including referrals, contracts, and support plans.
- Collaborates with staff to align attendance strategies with instructional delivery (in-person, hybrid, online).
- Supports data-based decision making aligned to MTSS/AIS frameworks.
- Leads weekly or biweekly data reviews with staff, focusing on attendance trends, assessment completion and outcomes and student persistence and engagement
- Manages and maintains detailed spreadsheets to track student enrollment, attendance hours, assessment data (including CASAS), and measurable skill gains, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting for program monitoring and decision-making.
- Coordinates tiered academic interventions for high school and GED students, ensuring alignment to assessment data.
- Supports students in goal setting, progress monitoring, and transition planning (credential completion, postsecondary, or workforce) and promotes accountability for attendance, assessment completion, and student outcomes.
- Facilitates connections to internal and external support services (e.g., childcare, transportation, counseling).
- Participates in building leadership teams, data teams, and adult education program meetings. Assist with student engagement initiatives, orientations, and persistence strategies.
- Supports implementation of MTSS/PBIS frameworks adapted for secondary and adult learners.
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) required with General Education or Special Education endorsements. Appropriate MTSS course work, MTSS implementation experience and data collection experience preferred.
