    Summary:

    Zoo Miami is currently seeking an exceptional individual looking to enter the education and interpretation field at a high-performing AZA institution. Candidates will provide guest engagement opportunities by being approachable, engaging and passionate while delivering exceptional guest service.

    \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t

    This position reports directly to the Interpretive Programs Leader - Education and Interpretation as well as the Interpretive Programs Supervisor and Manager - Education and Interpretation. They are responsible for engaging with guests at the various interactive animal program sites to include the Giraffe, Parrot and the Tortoise and Rhino Encounters. Also, provides exemplary guest service experiences to all zoo guests through guest engagement opportunities such as behind-the-scenes tours and public presentations.

    Responsibilities/duties include, but are not limited to: Provide daily fun, interactive, and educational interactions with guests during animal encounters.

    Participate in special events, animal encounters and educational presentations through entertaining venues onsite and outreach programming.

    \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t

    Assist guests by providing information on facility attractions and activities.

    \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t

    Respond to emergency situations and natural disasters such as animal escapes, injuries, wildfires, and hurricanes in accordance with established operating procedures.

    \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t

    Maintain animal behaviors under the direction of management/WEB as needed in order to complete necessary job functions.

    \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t

    Perform other related tasks as required which may include completing engagement and communication logs, completing tests, attending meetings, workshops etc.

    Experience Required

    \t\t\t\t\t

    High school diploma or GED. One year of customer service or tourism related experience is required. Must possess excellent communication skills. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays on a varying schedule. Must possess a valid driver\s license.
