The Interoperability Technical Lead serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for identifying, prioritizing, and managing interoperability risks, issues, trouble reports and observations.
The ABDE Interoperability lead will coordinate with JPO, the services, and external developers to ensure external support to MDA component offices for development, integration and test assets.
This Lead champions all inter-element/inter-agency/service interoperability challenges to include tracking issue/trouble report progress and providing metrics to MDA leadership for all MDA equities. The Lead supports AB, DC, DE, DT and the MDA Director in management of interoperability issues that impact MDA commitments.
This Lead identifies and champions interoperability objectives for integration tests (e.g.JCIs, CDIs), exercises, test venues (e.g.development HWIL labs) and analysis venues to reduce design and interoperability risks prior to entering formal testing.
This Lead also champions interoperability objectives to collect test/analysis data to support fielding of MDA assets in the Defense System. This role is becoming increasingly complicated as the number of assets grow and the interagency/interservice exercises and testing increases in complexity and cadence.
The Defense System is shifting to an integrated system in the 2027 timeframe, driving up interoperability risk as additional systems integrate for the first time.
This Lead will champion an inter-agency giver-receiver list to ensure MDS component offices, developers and test/analysis teams receive all externally-furnished data, information, models, test assets, threat/scenario data, and requirements to design, develop, test and field MDA components.
