- Hourly rate: $20.50 per hour
- Dates, hours and locations to be determined
- 10 hours per week
The Meal Site Assistant will perform the following duties:
- Greeting people at the entrance/exit doors of the meal site and welcome children, youth, and adults who are accompanying them.
- Answering participant questions about the meal service and if needed, consult with the Site Supervisor for answers or matters that may come up in the course of the meal service.
- Maintaining observation of the cafeteria and exit areas to ensure compliance with federal program requirements, specifically that adults are not consuming the child's meal or any part of the meal, and that children, youth, or the adults who are accompanying them do not leave the meal site with a meal or any part of the meal.
- Assisting in keeping the cafeteria area inviting and tidy during the course of the meal service (e.g. if someone leaves the site and does not return their tray or dispose of trash).
- Ensuring meal participants stay in the cafeteria area and do not roam in other parts of the school site; provide direction to the nearby restrooms.
- Working collaboratively with food service staff, and other district employees.
