What You Will Do:

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated 4th-Year Internal Medicine Chief Resident to join an innovative, clinician-led team within the Ascension Milwaukee Hospitals network. This unique hybrid role seamlessly blends inpatient and outpatient care, dedicated faculty time, and research to help champion a newly launched Internal Medicine Residency Program.

  • Shape the Future of Medicine: Take a foundational role in building and launching a new residency program, directly influencing the administrative operations and structural framework of the ambulatory clinical training site.
  • Lead Ambulatory Training: Design, develop, and lead clinical curriculum initiatives across ambulatory, hospitalist, and GME programs, ensuring the highest standards of medical education.
  • Mentor the Next Generation: Serve as a premier role model, mentor, and clinical educator for residents, fostering a culture of academic excellence, psychological safety, and continuous learning.
  • Deliver Exemplary Care: Manage your own longitudinal patient panel while teaching residents in the clinic setting, demonstrating top-tier diagnostic acumen and interpersonal clinical skills.
  • Drive Academic & ACGME Success: Collaborate directly with program leadership to maintain alignment with ACGME accreditation standards, while actively participating in scholarly activities and research.

Additional Preferences

  • Education & Track: Must be entering or currently in their 4th year of an Internal Medicine residency training program, tracking toward a Chief Resident appointment.
  • Licensure: Eligible for Wisconsin state medical licensure, DEA registration, and appropriate academic/clinical faculty credentials.
  • Core Competencies: Strong leadership and organizational skills are non-negotiable; prior teaching experience or a demonstrated passion for entering the GME space is highly preferred.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. 
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
