Internal Communications Lead – Enterprise Technology

We are seeking an experienced Internal Communications Lead / Editor-in-Chief to lead the editorial strategy, governance, and measurement of communications across a large Enterprise Technology organization. This role will own key internal communication channels, including newsletters, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Viva Engage, while partnering with communications teams across the organization to ensure consistent messaging, strong editorial standards, and effective audience engagement.

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of experience in corporate or internal communications, strong editorial and writing skills, experience developing communication governance and publishing standards, and advanced knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. The role will also help drive the adoption of AI-enabled communication tools and workflows, including testing, prompt refinement, and user adoption.

This is a highly visible, cross-functional role requiring strong stakeholder management, analytical thinking, editorial judgment, and the ability to work independently in a complex, matrixed organization.

• Serve as the Editor-in-Chief for Enterprise Technology communications and establish the overall editorial direction, content strategy, and publishing standards.
• Manage and curate content for key internal communication channels, including weekly newsletters, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Viva Engage.
• Establish and maintain editorial guidelines, brand standards, communication principles, and channel governance models.
• Develop publishing calendars and workflows to ensure timely, consistent, and high-quality communications.
• Partner with communications teams across decentralized business areas to align messaging, reduce communication overlap, and improve channel effectiveness.
• Review and edit high-visibility communications to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, tone, and audience relevance.
• Guide stakeholders on the appropriate communication channel based on audience, content, purpose, and organizational strategy.
• Own the lifecycle and continuous improvement of AI-enabled communication tools, including testing new capabilities, refining prompts, gathering user feedback, and driving adoption.
• Evaluate communication channels and publishing workflows to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, engagement, and audience experience.
• Extract, validate, and analyze communication analytics from platforms such as SharePoint, Viva Engage, Microsoft Teams, and email campaigns.
• Develop consistent measurement frameworks and reporting standards for readership, engagement, and channel performance.
• Translate communication metrics and audience trends into actionable recommendations and executive-level insights.
• Conduct experiments and assess results to continuously optimize communication strategies and channel performance.
• Prepare presentations and reports for senior leadership highlighting communication performance, trends, findings, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve communication alignment across the Enterprise Technology organization.
• Maintain operational tools, publishing processes, editorial calendars, and communication resources with a high degree of autonomy.
• Stay current with Microsoft 365, Copilot, generative AI, and workflow-enablement technologies and identify opportunities to improve communication effectiveness.
• Influence stakeholders and challenge communication approaches constructively while maintaining strong relationships across the organization.
