Summary

• This position does not qualify for county benefits and is available to Texas State University UNDERGRADUATES AND GRADUATES ONLY.

Perform field and administrative tasks to facilitate the administration of the Park Improvement Projects and the Environmental Health Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Duties include the following:

• Inspect the progress of park projects that have been awarded county funds.
• Visit both county parks at least once a week to inspect maintenance and quality of leased areas and common areas.
• Assist County Parks Manager with various special projects/programs as needed.
• Scanning historical records to assist implementation of paperless office environment.
• Data entry to support permitting process.
• Perform other duties, as needed, as directed by County Engineer.
• Attendance is an essential function of the job.

Mandatory Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. One (1) year certificate from college or technical school preferred; or two (2) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

DRIVING RECORD

Valid Texas driver's license is required in order to operate county vehicles. Must be able to provide a 3-year driving history from DPS.

Desired Minimum Qualifications

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to concisely and clearly document issues, utilizing proper grammar, etc. Thorough knowledge of word processing and database management experience.
