Intern - Field Engineer

Our Summer Internship Program gives students hands-on exposure to real projects, a dedicated mentor and supervisor, and the chance to build a defined deliverable presented to leadership at the end of the summer — with strong performers considered for full-time roles after graduation. The Field Engineer Intern will work directly alongside superintendents and project managers on active electrical construction projects, gaining hands-on exposure to how a job actually gets built and run in the field.

Our Summer Internship Program gives students hands-on exposure to real projects, a dedicated mentor and supervisor, and the chance to build a defined deliverable presented to leadership at the end of the summer — with strong performers considered for full-time roles after graduation.The Field Engineer Intern will work directly alongside superintendents and project managers on active electrical construction projects, gaining hands-on exposure to how a job actually gets built and run in the field. This role is site-based and physically active, offering the clearest look at day-to-day field operations of any track in the program.Documentation & Tracking

• Maintain as-built drawings and track RFIs and submittals.
• Support daily and weekly field reporting.

Field Support

• Assist with material tracking, punch list coordination, and site walks with superintendents and PMs.

Means & Methods

• Observe and document field installation methods.
• Assist with basic quantity takeoffs and progress tracking.

Safety & Compliance

• Participate in site safety briefings and toolbox talks.
• Support safety documentation and compliance tracking on site.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Willingness to work on active job sites, including required PPE and safety training (OSHA 10 provided)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, outdoor/field environment
• Valid driver's license

• Prior construction site experience (internship, co-op, or trade background)
• Familiarity with reading construction drawings and blueprints
• Exposure to project management or scheduling software (Procore, Bluebeam)

• Paid, 10–12 week summer program (early June – mid-August)
• Assigned supervisor for day-to-day work plus a separate mentor for informal guidance and support
• Company-wide orientation, weekly lunch-and-learns with department leaders, and a mid-summer check-in
• Capstone project presented to department and executive leadership in the final week
• Strong performers — particularly graduating seniors — will be considered for full-time offers
