Intermodal Dispatcher - Contract - Southeast Houston
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in intermodal, drayage, trucking, or transportation dispatch and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Job Duties:- Coordinate daily dispatching of drivers and container pickups/deliveries
- Schedule appointments with rail yards, terminals, and customers
- Monitor driver locations, loads, and delivery schedules
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and terminal personnel throughout the day
- Track containers and shipments to ensure timely delivery
- Handle schedule changes, delays, and other transportation issues
- Enter and maintain accurate dispatch and shipment information
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain clear communication with drivers and customers
Qualifications:- Previous intermodal, drayage, trucking, or dispatch experience preferred
- Knowledge of container and rail/terminal operations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer and data-entry skills
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- Dependable and able to work independently
