Intermediate Interior Designer (Commercial ) - Austin and San AntonioLake Flato Architects seeks a forward-thinking, energetic Interior Designer to join our award-winning, sustainable design practice in Austin and San Antonio, Texas. Ideal candidates will exhibit a commitment to excellence in architectural interiors and furnishings along with demonstrated experience in architectural interiors project workflow. Successful candidates should have 3-6 years of experience working collaboratively with creative teams and share our focus on vibrant, sustainable architecture. Job Description:The Intermediate Interior Designer's focus will be on managing, designing, sourcing, and documenting Interior Design scope. This will include space planning, developing material design strategies, finish selections and specifications, client presentation boards, documentation of all materials with a knowledge of details, and specification coordination. All fixture, furniture, and equipment selections along with specifications will be documented and coordinated throughout the design process and well into CA. Knowledge of the FF+E selection and bid process will be required. Projects will range from multiple project types, and candidates should showcase a design aptitude with the ability to apply influence to a wide range of user needs in a diverse range of regions and context.Position Responsibilities:• Collaborate with project teams in the selection, coordination, and documentation of interior architectural finishes in the space planning, material selection, coordination and documentation of the interior scope• Collaborate with project teams and lead the efforts pertaining to the selection, coordination, documentation, and selection of fixtures, furniture, and equipment (FF&E)• Provide design knowledge on interior lighting & environmental graphic integrated design process with the design team and manage consultants in this area of design • Lead in the production of architectural interiors documents including coordination of interior elevations. • Coordinate FF&E efforts through the design process and manage delivery and install during the CA phase• Participate in ongoing design discussions on a multitude of projects to contribute to the dialogue pertaining to interior design Required Qualifications: • College degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture• Pursuing NCIDQ certification • 3-6 years of demonstrated interiors focused project experience• Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, and Enscape• Ability to sketch and draw by hand • Highly motivated and able to work both self-directed and in interdisciplinary teams in a fast paced and energetic environment Preferred Qualifications: • LEED Accreditation or pursuing LEED Accreditation, WELL Accreditation or pursuing WELL accreditation.Application: Please send a digital copy of the required information below by e-mail to employment@lakeflato.com.• Format email with subject line ' Intermediate Interior Designer (Commercial) ' • Digital Portfolio in .pdf or .jpg format (10MB max)• Resume & Cover LetterWhen applying, please include responses to the following questions in your email: • How did you hear about Lake Flato?• Are you legally authorized to work in the US?• Will you now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status?• Can you perform the essential functions of the job for which you are applying, with or without a reasonable accommodation?• What date are you available to start working? • What are your salary requirements?
