Interior Designer / Selections Coordinator

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a highly respected custom home builder seeking an experienced Interior Designer / Selections Coordinator to join their team. This individual will play a key role in guiding homeowners through the design and selections process while coordinating with the builder, vendors, architects, and construction team to ensure each home is executed according to the client’s vision, budget, and timeline.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines a strong eye for design with exceptional organization, communication, and project coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide clients through the interior design and selections process for high-end custom homes.
  • Meet with homeowners to understand their style, preferences, needs, and budget.
  • Develop and present finish selections including flooring, tile, cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, paint, appliances, and other interior finishes.
  • Create and maintain detailed selections schedules and documentation for each project.
  • Coordinate selections with architectural plans, specifications, budgets, and construction schedules.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, vendors, subcontractors, architects, and designers to ensure selections are accurately communicated and executed.
  • Track pricing, allowances, upgrades, and changes to help maintain project budgets.
  • Obtain pricing and lead times from vendors and suppliers.
  • Manage samples, finish boards, specifications, and product information.
  • Assist with showroom visits, vendor meetings, and client presentations.
  • Review selections and specifications for accuracy before they are released to the field.
  • Communicate changes and updates to the construction team in a timely manner.
  • Help identify potential lead-time or material issues before they impact the construction schedule.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, showrooms, and trade partners.
  • Provide an exceptional client experience throughout the design and construction process.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in interior design, residential selections, or custom home construction.
  • Experience working with custom or luxury residential projects strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of residential finishes, materials, fixtures, cabinetry, countertops, flooring, lighting, and appliances.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Confident communicating with high-end residential clients.
  • Ability to understand architectural plans, elevations, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Strong vendor and product knowledge within the residential design industry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and design/project management software.
  • Experience with Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Houzz Pro, Studio Designer, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar platforms is a plus.
