Job Description
Our client is seeking an Interim M&A Technical Accounting Consultant to support the accounting integration of multiple acquisitions during a period of rapid growth. This consultant will partner closely with executive leadership to lead purchase accounting, opening balance sheet preparation, post-acquisition accounting integration, and multi-entity consolidations while helping establish scalable accounting processes for future acquisitions. The organization expects to complete several near-term acquisitions, making this a highly visible role with ongoing impact.
Job Responsibilities- Lead purchase accounting activities for newly acquired entities
- Prepare opening balance sheets and post-acquisition accounting entries
- Develop and validate ending and opening trial balances for acquired companies
- Support multi-entity consolidations and integration into the corporate accounting structure
- Assist with earnout accounting, rollover equity accounting, and acquisition-related accounting matters
- Partner with executive leadership to improve acquisition accounting processes and support ongoing M&A integration initiatives
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA strongly preferred
Years of Experience:- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior M&A and acquisition accounting experience required
Skills:- Purchase accounting expertise
- Opening balance sheet and trial balance preparation
- Post-acquisition integration experience
- Multi-entity consolidation experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Technical accounting expertise
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, acquisition-driven environment
- Excellent communication and project management skills
Software- ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite, or similar
- Tableau - nice to have
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with ERP systems in acquisition environments preferred
