We are seeking an Interim Senior Payroll Tax Specialist for our client in Dallas, TX. This role will support full-cycle, in-house payroll operations with a strong focus on payroll tax compliance, reconciliations, and reporting during a period of increased volume and complexity. The consultant will help ensure accurate and timely payroll processing across a large employee population (approx. 5,000), including weekly and bi-weekly cycles.
Attributes:
Process and review payroll including earnings, deductions, garnishments, and tax calculations
Perform payroll tax filings across federal, multi-state, and local jurisdictions
Complete payroll reconciliations and support payroll-related journal entries
Ensure accuracy of payroll data, working with timekeeping systems and employee records
Maintain and update payroll tax setups and resolve discrepancies
Support compliance with payroll laws, audits, and internal policies
5+ years of payroll experience with strong payroll tax focus in a high-volume environment
Experience with multi-state payroll and complex tax scenarios
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
Experience with UKG (preferred) and other WFM/timekeeping systems
