Responsibilities

As an Interim Senior Accountant, your duties will include but are not limited to:

1. Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
2. Performing month-end close procedures, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
3. Assisting with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances between actuals and forecasts.
4. Preparing and presenting financial reports to management, highlighting trends, and analyzing variances.
5. Ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
6. Assisting with the preparation and coordination of the audit process.
7. Providing technical accounting guidance and support to other departments.
8. Staying updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.
9. Participating in special projects and implementing process improvements as needed.

Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
2. CPA certification.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the energy industry.
4. Proficiency in variance analysis, month-end close, financial reporting, and technical accounting.
5. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
6. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
10. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
