About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst (Lead/Analyst) to backfill critical role and ensure accurate, timely payroll processing and compliance with state and federal regulations, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements. This individual will play a key role in managing Time and Attendance operations, supporting payroll-related projects, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive compliance and efficiency.

Work Location: Fully Remote but maintain east coast work hours

Duration: 9 months

Pay Rate Range: $45/hr-$60/hr

What You Will Work On

  • Lead and oversee payroll team activities for time and attendance processing across weekly and bi-weekly pay cycles for 5,000+ employees across multiple states.
  • Drive the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of payroll processes and records.
  • Monitor company benefit policies related to Time and Attendance, ensuring processes and system configurations comply with Leave of Absence rules and collective bargaining agreements (CBA).
  • Act as a partner on union-related matters, including contract interpretation, investigations, grievances, and audits.
  • Manage submission and testing of Pay Rule changes in line with new state/federal regulations, performing verification and communication of technical updates.
  • Oversee reconciliation issues in Time and Attendance, escalating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Liaise with HR, Payroll Operations, and Benefits to ensure accurate payroll processing for personnel changes, benefits updates, and terminations.
  • Support the Labor Relations team through timely data delivery for union negotiations.
  • Respond to internal and external audit requirements related to payroll processes.
  • Maintain compliance with key payroll dates and deadlines and ensure SLA adherence for case management and escalations.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years experience in Payroll and Timekeeping operations, preferably in environments with 5,000+ employees.
  • Proven expertise in payroll compliance requirements and union-related payroll processes.
  • Strong proficiency in SAP (HR, Payroll, Benefit Administration) and ADP platforms (GlobalView, SmartStream, Vantage Time/eTime, SAP ECC).
  • Deep knowledge of payroll tax and benefits, Time & Attendance systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, ensure accuracy, and meet critical deadlines.
