Interim Controller/Internal Controls Consultant

We are currently seeking candidates for an Interim Controller/Internal Controls Consultant at a manufacturing company located in Burlington, MA 01803.  The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in corporate accounting, including 5+ years of month-end close and preparation of financial statements.

This role is a 6-month consulting role; the hourly pay rate is between $100.00-$125.00 per hour (based on relevant work experience) within a 40-hour work week.

On-site 3 days per week.

Starts November 23rd, 2026.

The company is a pre-revenue, private equity- and strategic-backed entity preparing for an IPO and operating in an R&D phase with a small internal team.

Responsibilities

• Build Internal Controls for a Pre IPO Hi-Tech manufacturing company
• Upgrade processes
• Regulatory/SOX requirements
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
• Have strong knowledge of Inventory, COGS, WIP, and Cost to set the baseline for the manufacturing process
• Work in NetSuite, streamlining and building the close and control process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting or related field; CPA preferred
• 10+ years of experience in corporate accounting, including 5+ years of month-end close and preparation of financial statements experience
• Strong experience with internal controls and SOX compliance experience 
• Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and audit processes
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs
• Proficiency in NetSuite is highly preferred
