Interim Controller

Our client is a privately owned, investor backed renewables servicing and engineering services business operating across North America. The business is seeking an Interim Controller to provide leadership and continuity across its North American finance function while a permanent appointment is made. North American revenues are around $ 35m. This is initially a three month contract and would suit an experienced finance professional who is immediately or shortly available and comfortable stepping into an established finance function.

Reporting to the Group CFO and working closely with the North American leadership team, the Interim Controller will take responsibility for the day to day leadership and oversight of the finance function. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the North American finance function and manage a team of four to six
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Oversee forecasting, budgeting and cash flow management
  • Provide financial support and insight to the local leadership team
  • Maintain appropriate financial controls and compliance
  • Oversee key accounting, audit and tax requirements
  • Support existing finance systems and ongoing process improvements where required
  • Liaise with the Group CFO and wider international finance team
  • Provide financial leadership and stability during the permanent recruitment process

The successful candidate will ideally possess:

  • Previous experience in a senior finance position such as Controller, Finance Director, Head of Finance or similar
  • Strong accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Experience managing or overseeing a finance team
  • Good forecasting, budgeting and financial planning capabilities
  • The ability to work effectively with both finance and operational stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and a hands on approach
  • Experience within an international, engineering, services or project based environment would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Immediate or short notice availability preferred
  • Ability to work from the Fort Worth office, with 1 to 2 days remote per week

$170,000 to $180,000 annualized salary, prorated for the duration of the contract. Initial three month contract. Competitive interim compensation. Immediate start available. 1 to 2 days remote per week. Senior and visible position within the North American business. Opportunity to work closely with US and international leadership. Established finance team in place. Potential for the assignment to be extended depending on business requirements.
