    The mandate

A portfolio company needs a finance leader who can produce a defensible number quickly and manage cash under pressure. You take the CFO seat, install the reporting discipline the sponsor requires, and either stabilize the function for a permanent hire or carry the business through a specific event — a covenant issue, a system conversion, an exit process.

    What you'll own

    • Cash flow forecasting and management, typically 13-week rolling at minimum
    • Working capital improvement across receivables, payables, and inventory
    • Monthly close discipline and reporting quality — accuracy first, then speed
    • The sponsor and lender reporting package, including covenant compliance
    • Budget, forecast, and variance discipline the operating team can actually use
    • Financial metrics and KPI architecture aligned to the investment thesis
    • Board and sponsor communication
    • Assessment and development of the existing finance team

    First 90 days

Get to a cash forecast you trust. Get to a close you trust. Then start improving the numbers rather than defending them.

    What you bring

    • 15+ years in finance leadership, with prior CFO or divisional CFO experience
    • Direct private equity portfolio company experience — you know what sponsor reporting demands
    • Manufacturing cost accounting depth, including standard cost, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
    • Hands-on cash management under constraint
    • Lender relationship experience, including covenant negotiation
    • Comfort with a finance function that is understaffed, under-systemized, or both

Strong plus: ERP conversion experience; exit or sale process participation; distressed or turnaround situations; CPA or MBA.
