Job Details

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end billing activities for midstream services, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely invoice preparation and processing.

Review contracts, rate schedules, service volumes, and supporting documentation to validate billing calculations and resolve discrepancies.

Use OpenInvoice and SAP, or equivalent systems, to submit invoices, monitor workflow status, maintain records, and troubleshoot exceptions.

Investigate rejected invoices, disputed charges, missing documentation, and payment delays in collaboration with internal teams and external customers.

Reconcile billing data across operational and financial systems, identifying and correcting inconsistencies.

Support month-end close through billing reconciliations, accrual support, reporting, and timely resolution of outstanding items.

Maintain compliance with contractual requirements, company policies, and internal controls while preserving clear audit trails.

Identify opportunities to streamline billing workflows, reduce recurring errors, and improve invoice approval cycle times.

Provide practical recommendations, process documentation, and knowledge transfer to support a smooth transition at the end of the assignment.

Qualifications

5+ years of relevant experience in billing, invoicing, revenue accounting, or related financial operations within the energy industry.

Hands-on experience with OpenInvoice and SAP, or equivalent invoice management and enterprise resource planning systems.

Experience supporting midstream operations or closely related energy services, with an understanding of contract-driven billing and volume-based charges.

Demonstrated ability to interpret contracts, validate rates and service data, and resolve complex invoice discrepancies.

Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including tools used to analyze, compare, and reconcile large datasets.

Ability to work independently, adapt quickly to unfamiliar processes, and deliver results within an interim consulting engagement.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across finance, operations, commercial teams, and customers.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience welcomed.
