This position performs administrative duties in support of department operations.

• Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance; refers to appropriate personnel; takes messages.
• Assists in the registration of program participants and in maintaining sports team rosters.
• Schedules and plans community events.
• Maintains office supplies; reorders as needed.
• Prepares fliers and promotional literature.
• Maintains program files and records.
• Prepares a variety of letters and correspondence.
• Performs related duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to two years administrative support experience.

Physical Requirements:

• The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects.
• The work is typically performed in an office.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of computers and job related software programs.
• Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures and functions.
• Skill in the provision of customer services.
• Skill in public and interpersonal relations.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
