    Position Summary

    The Interconnection Project Manager supports utility interconnection applications, technical analysis, site diligence, and development activities for powered land and existing assets. This role coordinates with utilities and consultants, evaluates interconnection feasibility, tracks project milestones and costs, and helps advance sites through interconnection and entitlement processes.

    Job Function

    • Prepare and submit interconnection applications for powered land sites and track status, milestones, and deposits through the System Impact Study (SIS), Facilities Study, and DSA processes.
    • Review System Impact Studies, Facilities Studies, and interconnection agreements; summarize findings, risks, and cost implications for the deal team.
    • Conduct preliminary feasibility screening for prospective sites, including transmission proximity, substation capacity, and likely interconnection pathways through RTO/ISO queues or utility large-load processes.
    • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact with utility engineering staff for status updates, document requests, and scheduling; support materials for negotiations led by senior team members.
    • Communicate with and manage existing consultants supporting power procurement and expand the consultant network through new relationships.
    • Assist the Vice President of Development with the entitlement process for new development sites.
    • Provide interconnection feasibility input during site diligence and letter of intent (LOI) review, and report status to the Vice President of Development on a recurring basis.
    • Support the Asset Management team with power upgrades to existing assets, both speculatively and in support of ongoing leasing activities.
    • Evaluate the highest and best use of existing portfolio assets from a grid interconnection standpoint, advise the Asset Management team on value-creation opportunities, and prepare interconnection requests for existing assets.
    • Independently track and report the status of active interconnection applications and manage routine utility status calls.
    • Provide credible first-pass assessments of interconnection feasibility for new sites.
    • Manage consultant teams and utility contacts as a central resource for utility-related needs.
    • Support and drive site entitlement activities, including analysis of aquatic and natural resources, preliminary civil site planning, and non-electrical utility interconnections to help de-risk development sites.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
    • Five to nine years of relevant full-time experience involving utilities, transmission, power systems, or electrical engineering.
    • Coursework or project experience involving power systems, transmission, or grid infrastructure is preferred.
    • Exposure through an internship or prior role to utility processes, regional transmission organizations (RTOs), independent system operators (ISOs), or large-load interconnection is preferred.

    Qualifications

    • Strong written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple open items and deadlines across projects.
    • Familiarity with reading electrical one-line diagrams and civil site plans.
    • Exposure to RTOs/ISOs such as PJM, MISO, SPP, or ERCOT is preferred.
    • Ability to build productive working relationships with utility contacts and consultants.
    • Ability to independently manage interconnection tracking, routine status communications, and consultant coordination.
    • Ability to evaluate site interconnection feasibility and communicate risks, timing considerations, and cost implications to internal stakeholders.
