Interaction Designer/User Researcher/Usability Tester

ASRC NetCentric is seeking an Interaction Designer/User Researcher/Usability Tester to support a DHS program.

Work location: RemoteClearance: Public Trust - ability to successfully complete a government issued background investigation

Summary: The DHS Program will provide professional services to support application analysis, architectural design, engineering, development, maintenance, and support. Work includes implementation of Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Flow, and Power Business Intelligent (BI)), SharePoint, Office 365, Azure products and Services, Dataverse, Drupal, Confluence, Jira, and ServiceNow. We will provide a team experienced with design, agile software development, project management, technical architecture, engineering and design, continuous integration and delivery, integration, testing, configuration management, ongoing operations and maintenance, and cloud migration.

The Interaction Designer/User Researcher/Usability Tester conducts user research, persona development, IA/interaction design, and usability testing to improve UX and adoption; collaborates with designers/developers; ensures DHS branding and accessibility. The Interaction Designer / User Researcher / Usability Tester is part of a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team focused on improving usability, user experience, and driving user adoption and engagement. They are responsible for conducting user research, analysis & synthesis, persona development, interaction design, and usability testing to create products that delight our customers.

Responsibilities:

Conduct stakeholder interviews, user requirements analysis, task analysis, conceptual modeling, information architecture, interaction design, and usability testingDesign and specify user interfaces and information architectureLead participatory and iterative design activities, including observational studies, customer interviews, usability testing, and other forms of requirements discoveryProduce user requirements specifications & experience goals, personas, storyboards, scenarios, flowcharts, design prototypes, and design specificationsEffectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale and goals both verbally and visuallyPlan and facilitate collaborative critiques and analysis & synthesis working sessionsWork closely with visual designers and development teams to ensure that customer goals are met and design specifications are delivered uponDesigns and develops primarily internet/web pages and applicationsDevelops proof-of-concepts and prototypes of easy-to-navigate user interfaces(UIs) that consists of web pages with graphics, icons, and color schemes that are visually appealingResearch user needs as well as potential system enhancementsHas familiarity to, or may actually: code, test, debug documents, and implement web applications using a variety of platformsPlanning, recruiting, and facilitating the usability testing of a systemAnalyzing and synthesizing the results of usability testing in order to provide recommendations for change to a systemMay create such artifacts as Usability Testing Plan, Testing Scripts, and Usability Testing Report

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field.Minimum of three (3) years of combined experience in Interaction design, user research, and usability testing.US Citizen and ability to successfully complete a government issued background investigation.Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
