Staff Nurse Specialty Care

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities while preventing illness and injury and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN advocates for the care of individuals and families, maintaining compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with nursing regulations and ethical guidelines. The RN fosters a caring and healing environment focused on patient-centered care.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients, serving as a primary or accountable nurse when designated.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management utilizing available resources.
• Utilize knowledge of pharmacology to safely administer medications per established policies.
• Contribute to productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, and supplies.
• Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
• Engage actively in support of the Nursing Shared Governance Model, participate in improvement initiatives, and contribute to peer review practices.
• Participate in professional development and complete all mandatory education requirements.
• Integrate nursing research and current evidence into daily practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Perform charge nurse or shift coordinator duties when assigned.
• Engage in the Clinical Ladder Program as knowledge and expertise develop.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Six (6) months to three (3) years of nursing (RN) experience.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Awareness of safety and risk management practices.

• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.

• Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing.

• Current Registered Nurse License in the state.
• BLS Certification (from AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Unit-specific requirements as listed in the Compliance Matrix.

• CCRN Certification.
• Relevant skill certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by assigned unit.

Critical Care Float RN, 12 Days; 36 hours per week. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS. Critical care experience is necessary, and Epic experience is preferred.
