Integration Engineer

Validation Engineer Role

Key Responsibilities /Success profile for the new role:

• A Network Integration Engineer is responsible for analyzing, preparing, implementing, and executing integration and verification activities for network nodes, functions, and end to end solutions. They secure high quality integration, upgrades, migrations, and expansions of complex networks, using strong data analytical skills to ensure accurate configuration, testing, and acceptance in line with Client standards and customer requirements.

Some key responsibilities include the following:

• Analyze solution design, network topology, and integration requirements to define integration strategy, test scope, and acceptance criteria for nodes and end to end network functions (RAN, Transport, Core, Cloud where applicable).
• Prepare and execute configuration, integration, and verification activities for new deployments, upgrades, migrations, and expansions of network nodes/systems (including software installation, parameter configuration, feature activation, and basic optimization related to integration).
• Design, implement, and execute test cases (including integration, regression, and basic performance tests) and analyze test results to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve integration issues using data analytical skills.
• Support System Integration Test and Integration Test phases in projects (e.g., implementation test, system integration test, integration test execution and reporting).
• Apply relevant Client portfolio knowledge (products, features, and solutions) and network security requirements when integrating and validating customer solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Solution Architects, Network Engineers, Customer Project Managers, and Operations/Managed Services teams to plan and execute integration activities and secure smooth handover to operations.
• Contribute to Methods of Procedure (MoPs), low level design inputs, and implementation guidelines; provide feedback to improve templates, tools, and ways of working.
• Use automation, scripting, and available tools to industrialize repetitive integration and verification tasks where feasible.
• Document integration configurations, test evidence, and deviations; support customer and internal acceptance processes.
• Provide technical support during early life, warranty, and stabilization phases related to integration scope.

Technical domain knowledge

• Solid 4G/5G fundamentals RAN, core, radio concepts, latency/throughput trade-offs, and how private networks differ from public and Wi-Fi, especially in industrial environments.
• Private 5G/EP5G architecture understanding cloud-based management portal, troubleshooting app, segments/APN/DNN, and integration into enterprise IT/OT environments.
• Industrial/IoT focus familiarity with use cases like logistics, mining, factories, airports (AGVs/AMRs, scanners, tablets, autonomous vehicles, etc.) and their network performance requirements.

Test & automation skills

• Strong test automation and scripting ability to design automated test suites, write scripts (e.g., Python, shell, test frameworks), and integrate with CI pipelines; scripting seen as a core TE skill between pure SW dev and manual test execution in Client context.
• End-to-end system test competence building scenarios that span RAN, core, management portal, devices and applications (e.g., device onboarding, mobility, QoS/segments, firmware updates).
• Performance and scalability testing validating predictable latency, throughput, reliability and coverage (incl. large sites and multi-location deployments) for business-critical applications.

System thinking & integration

• System-level understanding capacity to reason across EFN, EP5G, enterprise LAN/DC, security zones, and IT/OT integrations rather than focusing on a single node.
• Device & ecosystem awareness understanding how devices (routers, scanners, industrial sensors) are validated against EP5G test networks and what "Client Connected" implies from a test perspective.

Quality, security & reliability mindset

• Security-by-design mindset attention to authentication, encryption, segmentation and zero-trust principles in test scenarios, aligned with EP5G's secure-by-design approach.
• High-availability & robustness focus designing tests for redundancy, failover, recovery, and operations in mission-critical environments (24/7, large factories, ports, utilities, airports).

Customer & field orientation

• Use-case centric thinking translating customer requirements (e.g., productivity, safety, cost savings) into test cases that validate real business outcomes, not just technical KPIs.
• Troubleshooting & support mindset comfort using the EP5G management portal and troubleshooting tooling as a customer would, including logs, alarms, and remote diagnostics.
