Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Integration Engineer to support the onboarding of new banking and lending partners onto established integration frameworks. This is a hands-on technical implementation role focused on configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and launching existing integrations rather than designing new architecture or building software from scratch. The Integration Engineer will work directly with financial institution partners and internal teams to gather requirements, configure API and middleware integrations, map data, establish connectivity, validate end-to-end workflows, and resolve technical issues through production launch. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong REST API and JSON integration experience, familiarity with middleware or iPaaS platforms such as Workato, MuleSoft, or Boomi, and a background in banking, lending, or fintech. The Integration Engineer will provide additional implementation capacity to a small team, helping accelerate partner launches while maintaining quality and predictable timelines.
Responsibilities of the Integration Engineer:- Own technical onboarding of financial institution partners from requirements gathering through production launch and initial post-launch support.
- Configure and support integrations using Workato, REST APIs, SFTP, and existing core banking connector frameworks.
- Gather technical requirements and translate business workflows into integration configurations and implementation plans.
- Partner with Lender Technology, Operations, Accounting, and Implementation teams to resolve technical blockers and maintain launch readiness.
- Execute and validate end-to-end workflows involving member and account creation, loan boarding, funding processes, document transfers, and downstream data updates.
- Troubleshoot integration issues involving APIs, data mapping, middleware, core banking platforms, and partner environments.
- Perform API testing, data validation, and workflow testing to ensure reliable partner connectivity.
- Support production launches, monitor integrations, resolve incidents, and provide post-production support.
- Improve implementation scalability by optimizing Workato workflows and standardizing repeatable processes, templates, and automation.
Required Experience/Skills for the Integration Engineer:- 6+ years of experience specifically working in technical integrations, integration engineering, solutions engineering, or technical implementation.
- Strong hands-on experience with REST APIs and JSON, including authentication, data mapping, error handling, and API testing.
- Experience with middleware, iPaaS platforms, or API-based systems integration.
- Experience gathering technical requirements and translating business workflows into integration requirements.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot technical issues and drive implementations through resolution.
- Experience working directly with external customers, clients, or financial institution partners.
- Background in banking, financial services, lending, or fintech environments.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Integration Engineer:- Experience with Workato, particularly hands-on Workato recipe development; MuleSoft, Boomi, Tray.io, or similar platforms also considered.
- Familiarity with core banking platforms such as Fiserv DNA, Fiserv Premier, Corelation Keystone, Jack Henry Symitar, FIS, or similar systems.
- Experience with SFTP, PGP encryption, NACHA files, loan boarding, account creation, or other banking integration workflows.
- Proficiency in Postman, SQL, or similar tools for API testing, data validation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting production integrations, go-live activities, monitoring, incident resolution, and post-production support.
- Ability to manage multiple partner implementations while maintaining launch timelines and implementation quality.
Education Requirements:- No specific degree requirement provided.
- Relevant hands-on integration experience and technical implementation expertise are the primary qualifications.
Benefits:- Fully remote opportunity.
- Six-month contract with potential for contract-to-hire conversion.
- Opportunity to contribute to a growing fintech organization and work with established banking integration technologies.
- Conversion salary range: $120k to $144k.
- Atrium Care Package available, upon eligibility (including healthcare plans, discount programs, and paid time off).
