Description

Integration Data Engineer – Law Enforcement / Public Safety (Ref: 5817)
Location: Texas preferred.
Employment: W2 strongly preferred.
Estrada Consulting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Integration Data Engineer to support the design, development, implementation, and production support of complex data integrations within a law-enforcement/public-safety environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience integrating data from Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management Systems (RMS), Offender/Offense Management Systems (OMS), Jail Management Systems (JMS), and other criminal-justice or public-safety source systems.

Required Experience:
  • Strong hands-on data engineering and systems integration experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with law-enforcement, criminal-justice, or public-safety data systems, including CAD, RMS, OMS, JMS, or comparable source systems.
  • Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, data analysis, extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience designing and supporting integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, SFTP/file-based exchanges, database connections, and other system-to-system integration methods.
  • Experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT and data integration pipelines for batch, scheduled, near-real-time, and/or real-time data exchanges.
  • Experience with source-to-target mapping, data transformation, normalization, synchronization, and reconciliation across disparate systems.
  • Ability to implement data validation and quality controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity of integrated data.
  • Experience implementing monitoring, logging, alerting, exception handling, retry/recovery, and reprocessing procedures for production integrations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot failed interfaces, missing or duplicate records, synchronization issues, schema changes, malformed data, connectivity failures, and other integration problems.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and related technical documentation, including interface specifications, source-to-target mappings, data flows, field definitions, transformation rules, dependencies, error handling, and operational procedures.
  • Experience testing integrations and validating data across source and target systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with application teams, database administrators, vendors, business stakeholders, and law-enforcement/public-safety technical teams.

Highly Desired:
  • Experience integrating data across multiple independent justice/public-safety systems or agencies is highly desirable, particularly involving dispatch, incident/offense, arrest, booking, inmate/jail, warrant, case, court, or other criminal-justice information.
  • Knowledge of CJIS/security requirements, NIEM, XML, JSON, message-based integrations, data exchange standards, and secure handling of criminal-justice information is also highly desirable. Modern justice-system integration requirements commonly include real-time, near-real-time and batch exchanges, documented APIs, data validation/reconciliation, and CJIS-compliant exchanges.

Candidate Preference: Candidates located in Texas are preferred. W2 candidates are strongly preferred.

Important: Resumes should clearly identify the specific CAD, RMS, OMS, JMS, law-enforcement, corrections, or criminal-justice systems supported and describe the candidate's hands-on role in the associated data integrations.
