Position Summary:
The Intake Trainer is responsible for innovation and creation of training programs for intake employees who are onboarding or need additional education. This position requires someone to be observant, creative and have analytical skills. To be successful it will also require an individual to cater to each individual training methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Comfortable working daily with insurance payers to gain prior authorization approval for specialty drug treatments.
- Continuously evaluate employee performance and knowledge to gauge what skills need improvement.
- Create training materials to address gaps in knowledge for the intake team.
- Use available software to create and prepare training materials.
- Help develop onboarding materials for new employees.
- Create training schedule for new employees.
- Continue to research new and better training methods.
- Research new and more efficient training methods.
- Comfortable working with remote teams in multiple states to coordinate access to specialty drugs and infusion treatments.
- Understands prior authorization of specialty drug regimens.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested to maintain a high level of service.

- Complies with departmental organizational policies and procedures and adheres to external agency requirements.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrated work history of being successful at handling prior authorizations, appeals and denials.
- Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinic operations.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to collaborate with others and offer outstanding customer service.
- Demonstrates a high degree of computer literacy in a PC environment.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Six months of experience of successfully completing federal and commercial payer authorizations.
- Three months of experience successfully completing national contract payer authorizations.
- Three months of experience with successfully completing single case agreements
Education/Licensure/Technical Requirements.
- High school Diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college or business school training preferred.
· One year of experience with prior authorizations, federal, commercial, and national contract expertise required.
· Ability to meet U.S. employment and eligibility requirements.
