Intake Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating all incoming referrals from referral sources
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive and process intake data from the agency referral sources
- Work closely with billing and accounting personnel in verifying and establishing authorization for treatment
- Obtain patient demographics, physician name, diagnosis, etc., to ensure referral information is complete
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with referral sources
- Interact directly with sales team regarding incoming referrals
- Advise the Executive Director on current events, concerns and operations
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal and agency referral/intake requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ideal candidate will be an LVN, but will consider others with previous Intake experience.
- Minimum of one year of administrative experience in a professional office environment, preferred
- Knowledge of organization policies, procedures and systems
- Ability to plan, coordinate, direct and control the health services of the agency with an understanding of statistical recording and reporting
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type from draft copy, review and edit reports, and correspondence
- Demonstrate a strong public relation focus and customer first orientation
- Ability to deal tactfully with the public and demonstrate a team mentality
