Intake Coordinator/Medical Assistant - UBMD Neurology

Full-Time | Onsite

Locations:
1001 Main Street (Conventus), Buffalo, NY 14203 or Williamsville, NY

Practice: University Neurology
Pay: Starting at $18.00 per hour


Position Summary

University Neurology is seeking a reliable and patient-focused Intake Coordinator to support clinical operations across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role combines hands-on clinical support with administrative responsibilities and requires comfort working across different office settings.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist providers with patient intake, including obtaining medical histories and recording vital signs

  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding

  • Assists with basic clinical operations

  • Accurately document patient information in the electronic health record (EHR), including ICD coding

  • Perform clinical tasks and manage patient phone calls as needed

  • Coordinate care with providers, nursing staff, and other clinical team members

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe clinical environments in compliance with safety protocols

  • Provide administrative support including appointment scheduling and patient record management

  • Float between practice locations as needed to support daily operations


Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred but not necessary

  • 1–2 years of experience as a Nursing Assistant or as a Medical Assistant preferred

  • Proficiency with EHR systems and medical documentation

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology

  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Excellent communication and patient service skills
