Here's what might happen on a typical day…

In this role, you use your investigative skills to determine the reasoning for aging claims and recognize any trends among these aging claims.  Your customer service skills will allow you to respectfully communicate with payors and compassionately work with our patients to collect payments.

    • Identifying errors on accounts and following through to conclusion is one of your many strengths.
    • Your ability to connect with multiple types of personalities and professionals allows you to openly communicate in a timely manner with payors, collection agencies, coworkers, and patients.
    • Backing up other members of the billing department with verifying and obtaining all necessary patient insurance and benefit coverage information confirms that you are a team player.
    • Your go-getter work ethic will have you ready to jump in and help out with any additional
    Qualifications:

For your safety, keep this in mind:

    • The position will require sitting for long periods of time with occasional stooping, bending, and stretching for supplies.
    • Any lifting should be limited to 30 pounds or less.
    • You will need sufficient manual dexterity for operating office equipment (keyboard, telephone, copier, etc.), and vision and hearing must be adequate for viewing computer screens for prolonged periods of time and hearing customers during in-person and telephone conversations.

We feel this position requires these basics:

    • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, but an associate’s degree in a business-related field would be even better!
    • Your proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) is a must. You either live in the Knoxville area or are in the process of relocating. This role is fully onsite and does not offer remote or hybrid work options.
