Ryan Insurance Agency is a growing independent insurance agency looking for an experienced Retention Manager / Senior Personal Lines Account Manager to help lead renewal reviews, retention strategy, remarketing, and client coverage conversations.

This is not a cold sales role. This is a high-impact client advisory and retention role for someone who understands personal lines coverage, communicates confidently with clients, documents clearly, and can help protect and grow an established book of business.

The right person will be organized, proactive, coverage-minded, and comfortable having real conversations with clients about rate increases, coverage gaps, remarketing options, carrier changes, and ways to protect their household.

We are looking for someone who can step in and take ownership of the renewal and retention process. This person should be able to look at an account, understand the clients situation, identify issues, recommend solutions, and communicate those recommendations professionally.

Salary Range: $65000.00 - $70000.00 per year

Responsibilities

• Manage renewal reviews for personal lines clients before renewal
• Review auto, home, umbrella, and related policies for coverage gaps and retention opportunities
• Contact clients regarding rate increases, coverage changes, billing concerns, and remarketing options
• Prepare and complete remarkets when appropriate
• Compare renewal options and explain recommendations clearly to clients
• Identify cross-sell and account-rounding opportunities, including umbrella, home, auto, toys, and other personal lines policies
• Review household drivers, vehicles, PIP selections, deductibles, discounts, and optional coverages
• Promote appropriate carrier programs such as telematics, student discounts, paperless, EFT, and pay-in-full options
• Work closely with producers and service staff to protect client relationships
• Document all conversations, recommendations, decisions, and follow-ups accurately in the agency management system
• Help improve retention processes, workflows, and renewal review standards
• Provide a high level of service while keeping agency procedures consistent and organized

• Personal lines insurance experience required
• Independent agency experience strongly preferred
• Active Michigan Property & Casualty license preferred
• Strong understanding of auto, home, umbrella, and personal lines coverage
• Comfortable discussing rate increases and coverage recommendations with clients
• Strong documentation and follow-up habits
• Able to manage a renewal workload without constant direction
• Professional phone and email communication skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive
• Able to balance client service, retention, and agency profitability
• Experience with EZLynx, carrier portals, and remarketing workflows is a plus
