One of our top clients, a respected insurance defense firm with an office in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney for a remote role. You'll work closely with a senior attorney in the office, supporting and helping manage their caseload. This is a great fit for an attorney who wants to focus on practicing law, with no book of business and no business development required.

Responsibilities:

• Support a senior attorney on a docket of insurance defense matters from intake through resolution
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and other written work
• Take and defend depositions, and attend hearings and mediations
• Evaluate cases and prepare reports for insurance carriers and clients
• Help with trial preparation and case strategy
• Meet an annual target of 1,800 billable hours

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) and active New Mexico State Bar license in good standing
• 3 to 9 years of civil litigation experience; insurance defense experience strongly preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Comfortable working remotely and managing deadlines
• No book of business required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
