Insurance Defense Attorney: Own Your Files and Build Trial Skills in Pittsburgh

Our client, a well-established and well-respected firm with a strong civil litigation practice, is adding an Insurance Defense Attorney with 3+ years of experience to its Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office due to continued growth in its client base.

This is an in-office role in downtown Pittsburgh. You will represent insurance company clients, their insureds, and corporate clients in all facets of civil litigation, managing cases independently and as part of a collaborative case team.

What You'll Do

• Manage a caseload independently and as part of a case team
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents
• Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
• Correspond with clients, adjusters, and opposing counsel
• Conduct legal and factual research
• Provide guidance to law clerks and junior associates

What We're Looking For

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active member of the Pennsylvania Bar in good standing
• 3+ years of civil litigation experience in insurance defense, general liability, professional liability, products liability, and/or construction defect
• Strong drafting and oral advocacy skills
• Deposition and hearing experience; trial experience is a plus
• A highly team-oriented approach and willingness to work in office
