Insurance Defense Associate Attorney

I'm working with one of the Northeast's premier litigation firms, which is adding an Associate in Bridgeport focused on civil litigation and insurance defense, including professional liability, legal malpractice, general liability, and premises liability.

What you'll do:

- Manage your own caseload from inception to resolution

- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and meet deadlines

- Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials

- Work with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys on litigation strategy, and give clients regular status updates

- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda

What you'll bring:

- JD from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Connecticut Bar (or an adequate UBE score for admission)

- 1-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or a related area; clerkship experience valued

- Skill drafting and arguing dispositive motions, legal research, and discovery

- Strong advocacy skills for mediations, arbitrations, trials, and hearings
