Insurance Coverage Attorney

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney to join an established and growing coverage practice.

This is a true insurance coverage position focused on policy interpretation, coverage analysis, and advising insurance carriers regarding their contractual obligations. We are looking for an attorney with 4+ years of substantive carrier-side coverage experience who can step in and handle sophisticated matters.

The work includes:

• Interpreting commercial insurance policies, endorsements, exclusions, and limitations
• Analyzing duty to defend and duty to indemnify
• Preparing coverage opinions and reservation of rights letters
• Advising carriers and claims professionals on coverage issues
• Handling matters involving CGL, professional liability, property, first-party and third-party coverage
• Analyzing additional insured issues, allocation, excess/umbrella coverage, and bad faith
• Handling coverage disputes, including declaratory judgment actions and appeals
• Conducting legal research and preparing substantive coverage-related briefing

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of substantive insurance coverage experience
• Strong background in policy interpretation and written coverage analysis
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to independently evaluate complex coverage issues
• Illinois Bar admission

This is not primarily an insurance defense position. Candidates should have direct experience analyzing policies, identifying coverage issues, and advising carriers regarding coverage obligations.
