About the position:

The Carrier Payable Accounting Senior Associate is a critical role processing cash disbursements, reconciling carrier statements and managing discrepancies. Collaboration and effective communication are key to completing their assignments. Senior Accounting Associates recognize the attention to detail when processing their assigned items and work together as a team. They take pride in their impact and ensure that their accuracy and efficiency lead to successful resolution and results for all. They handle both transactional work as well as supporting the accounting associates on their team with any functional questions, training, and similar support. They support the leadership team to ensure the team is performing within the SLAs and internal controls and policies of the SFC (Specialty Finance Center). This position reports to the Insurance Accounting Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently handle the processing of high-volume invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare and maintain accounting documents that support transactions
• Research, track and resolve accounting discrepancies and questions
• Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of supporting documentation as required
• Ensure compliance with team Key Performance Metrics, internal controls and policies
• Monitor and analyze the team’s work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Strong desk level understanding of workflows to manage own work, support the team, and deliver training to staff
• Analyze, research, and resolve complex problems, including root cause analysis of errors, and work with the leadership team to find resolution paths
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external clients
• Contribute to a cooperative team environment, assuming cross functions as necessary to meet department deadlines and goals
• Collaborate with the SFC leadership team to support overall department goals and objectives
• Identify and assist with the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflows of the department
• Strong desire to support internal and external customers within the controls and policies of the SFC and HUB
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Required 3+ years of accounts payable experience
• High school diploma/GED required (College degree preferred)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in supporting processing functions
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong reconciliation experience (bank, checks, etc.)
• History of balancing multiple priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines
• Demonstrated proficiency working with Microsoft Office (Excel)
• Experience in a shared services accounting environment preferred
• Insurance brokerage experience preferred
