Job Description
Assists qualified personnel in performing technical maintenance and repair of both Electrical and Instrumentation and control equipment in support of maintenance programs. The work involves maintaining and repairing a variety of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical equipment, appliances, and devices using specialized test equipment and instruments.
There are three levels for this position, the following is the hiring ranges based on experience:
Instrumentation and Electrical Technician I: $23.60/hour to $32.45/hour
Instrumentation and Electrical Technician II: $27.03/hour to $37.17/hour
Instrumentation and Electrical Technician III: $28.93/hour to $39.78/hour
The full salary range for each level to provide opportunity for growth and development:
Instrumentation and Electrical Technician I: $23.60/hour to $41.30/hour
Instrumentation and Electrical Technician II: $27.03/hour to $47.31/hour
Instrumentation and Electrical Technician III: $28.93/hour to $50.63/hour

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience
Instrumentation and Electrical Technician I:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school and 1 year of experience in Instrumentation or Electrical work.
Instrumentation and Electrical Technician II:
A combination of education and experience equivalent to High School diploma or GED and three (3) to five (5) years of experience, and training in instrumentation or electrical work sufficient to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities required.
Possession of either a valid CCST Level I Certification OR a valid Virginia Journeyman Electrical License is required.
Water or wastewater work experience is preferred.
Instrumentation and Electrical Technician III:
A combination of education and experience equivalent to High School or GED and five (5) to seven (7) years of experience, and training in Electrical and Instrumentation work sufficient to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities required.
Possess BOTH a valid CCST Level I Certification and a valid Virginia Journeyman Electrical License.
Water or wastewater work experience is preferred.
