    Description

    Position Purpose

    Keeps instruments, controls and electrical systems working. Hiring during commissioning is deliberate, as knowledge transfer from the integrator and vendor technicians only happens once.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Calibrate, troubleshoot and repair transmitters, control valves, analyzers and final control elements.
    • Maintain motor control centers, variable frequency drives, switchgear and distribution equipment.
    • Troubleshoot control loops, interlocks and safety instrumented functions with the Controls Engineer.
    • Maintain gas detection, fire alarm and emergency shutdown systems and complete proof testing on schedule.
    • Execute preventive maintenance and calibration schedules in the CMMS and document results.
    • Support planned outages and turnaround work.
    • Maintain compliance with NFPA 70E, arc flash requirements and hazardous area installation rules.

    Required Qualifications

    • Associate degree in instrumentation, electrical technology or equivalent military or apprenticeship training.
    • Five or more years of industrial instrumentation and electrical maintenance.
    • Calibration and loop troubleshooting competence.
    • NFPA 70E qualified and comfortable working on energized equipment where permitted.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Texas journeyman electrician license.
    • DCS or PLC troubleshooting experience.
    • Analyzer maintenance experience.
