Summary:
Provides clean and sterile supplies and equipment through decontamination, preparation, sterilization, storage and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment utilizing infection control and safety practices during all phases of the process under the direction of a Unit Manager/Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Formal Education Required:
- High school level course work in English grammar and basic mathematic
- Ability to read and write English and follow oral and written instructions
Experience and Training Required
- Current HSPA or CRCST Certification or minimum 1year experience with knowledge of cleaning, disinfection and sterilization techniques and be able to obtain certification within six months of hire date.

- Knowledge of appropriate medical terminology for surgical applications.
- Operate all required equipment and machinery accurately and safely.
- Knowledge of applicable sanitary, infection control and safety standards.
Level of Physical Demands
- Medium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or ten to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects.
- Physical working environment may include, but not limited to, any of the following hazards: high pressure steam, chemical, electrical, mechanical, bio-waste.
- Environmental conditions may include, but not be limited to, variations in temperature, noise, odors, blood & body fluids, multi-stimuli, etc.
