    Job Summary

    Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks a Instrument Fitter for a project in Wilmington, NC. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3-months.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Blueprint & Drawing Reading: Interpret P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), isometric layouts, and hook-up drawings to determine specifications.
    • Tubing & Piping: Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install small-bore tubing (like stainless steel or copper) and piping for pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
    • Component Installation: Mount and secure field instruments such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, valves, and gauges using specialized brackets and stands.
    • Testing & Calibration: Conduct pressure and leak tests on tube and pipe installations, ensuring signal integrity, zero leaks, and overall calibration to meet project standards.
    • System Fabrication: Build and install tube trays, junction boxes, and multi-tubing bundles.

    Qualifications

    • 2-3 years related experience
    • Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
    • Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
    • Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.

    Physical Demands

    • Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds.
    • Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions.
    • Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as, confined spaces.
    • Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position.
    • Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
    • Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in workboats, and working in awkward body positions.
